NEW INSTRUCTORS ANNOUNCED FOR BKK SUMMER CAMP 2019

All Kyokushin karateka are invited to join us for the annual British Karate Kyokushinkai (BKK) Summer Camp, featuring new instructors and activities for 2019.
Camp begins on Thursday 15th August and ends Sunday morning 18th August, with up to four sessions a day. Full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch & evening meal) is included.
Students who attend the BKK Summer Camp will train with other World-Class instructors in all aspects of Kyokushin Karate - focus on Kumite training (Fighting), whilst still maintaining excellent Kihon (Basics), Kata, Self Defence and Fitness sessions.
This year's adult instructor list includes Shihan Terry Prescott (6th Dan), Shihan Chris Seal (5th Dan), and GB Knockdown Coach Sensei Kenny Jarvis (3rd Dan). Shihan Liam Keaveney (7th Dan), Shihan David Pickthall (7th Dan) and Hanshi Steve Arneil (10th Dan) will also be instructing at the camp.
Adults & Children Welcome!
The BKK Senior Camp is for ages 16+. The BKK Junior Karate Camp for ages 8 upwards runs at the same venue with dedicated children's instructors at the same time as the senior camp. This year's Junior camp instructors are GB and Wales Junior & Cadet Coach Sensei Chris Davies (4th Dan), England Junior & Cadet Coach Sensei Wai Cheung (4th dan) & Shihan Janine Davies (6th Dan - IFK World Kata Coach).
Grade At Camp
Participants of the British Karate Kyokushinkai Summer Camp have the opportunity to attempt a black belt dan grade under Hanshi Steve Arneil (10th Dan) and Shihan Liam Keaveney (7th Dan). The grading is usually held on the Thursday of Summer Camp and lasts most of the day.

Knockdown Referee Course
In preparation for the British Open Knockdown Tournament, 23rd September 2017, Shihan Andrew Turner (BKK Knockdown Chief Referee) will be holding a knockdown referee course. Due to rules changes, anyone wishing to be invited to referee or judge must attend.

BKK Summer Camp 2017
The BKK Summer Camp is open to students from all organisation. Ages from 8+ are all welcome (under 16’s train separately to the seniors).
The camp will be held from Thursday 10th - Sunday 13th August in the beautiful surroundings of Felsted School, Essex, UK; Stansted airport is close by.
There are up to 4 karate sessions a day by top Kyokushin instructors, led by Hanshi Steve Arneil (10th Dan).
IFK Kyokushin students can also choose to grade at camp under the instruction of Hanshi Steve Arneil 10th Dan.
The cost to attend BKK Summer Camp is £130 for juniors, £160 cadets (ages 16-17) and £185 for adults 18+. Prices include 3 nights accommodation, full board (breakfast, lunch & dinner), all training sessions and Sayonara party.
National Kata Course with Sensei Darren Stringer
The next National Kata course will be 11th June with lead by Sensei Darren Stringer 4th Dan (GB Kata Coach) and assisted by Shihan Janine Davies (6th Dan)

National Grading
The next national grading will be held at the BKK Summer Camp on the 11th August 2016.
Please send your completed grading forms to Shihan Liam Keaveney at least two weeks before the grading.

Please note: Hanshi has reviewed and revised, along with the Technical Committee, the following National Grading requirements in relation to the Refereeing Qualifications.
Candidates attempting 3rd Dan will now be expected to attend the relevant courses and take three (out of 4) theoretical examinations.
Candidates attempting 2nd Dan will now be expected to attend the relevant courses and take two out of four theoretical examinations.
